The so-called mixed bed is to mix a certain proportion of cation and anion exchange resins in the same exchange device to exchange and remove the ions in the fluid. Since the specific gravity of the cation resin is larger than that of the anion resin, the anion resin is on top and the cation resin is on the bottom in the mixed bed. Generally, the ratio of the positive and negative resins is 1:2, and there is also a loading ratio of 1:1.5, which can be selected according to the discretion of different resins. Mixed beds are also divided into synchronous regenerative mixed beds and in vitro regenerative mixed beds. Synchronous regeneration type mixed bed in the operation and the entire regeneration process are carried out in the mixed bed, regeneration of the resin does not move out of the equipment outside, and the anode and annegative resin regeneration at the same time, so the required ancillary equipment is less, easy to operate.

Mixed-bed treatment process equipment includes mixed ion exchanger and in vitro regeneration equipment. The in vitro regeneration equipment mainly includes resin separator, anion (yang) resin regenerator, resin storage tower, mixed resin tower and acid and alkali regeneration equipment. Domestic mixed-bed treatment process is mainly characterized by resin separation and regeneration process. There are three kinds of resin separation and regeneration processes.

Mixed bed shell materials include glass fiber reinforced plastic, organic glass, stainless steel, carbon steel, anticorrosive, etc., cylindrical shape, diameter Φ200-2500mm, water production from 0.5t/h-98t/h. The cationic beds are loaded with strong acid cation exchange resin, and the anionic beds are loaded with strong alkali anion exchange resin, and the height of loading is always in the range of 1000-2400 mm. There is no support layer at the bottom of the small cap type equipment, and there is a support layer of quartz sand of different sizes and levels at the bottom of the medium and large-sized equipment (it is not recommended to do so now because the quartz sand and the acid will have a chemical reaction when acid washing, which will have an effect on the quality of water), and there is a 200 mm-thick pressed grease layer of resin at the top of the resin of the countercurrent regeneration fixed bed (the special resin is used to cover the resin underneath). (special resin is used to cover the resin underneath). The operating pressure of plexiglass column is ≤0.15MPa, and the operating pressure of other materials is ≤0.6MPa. The positive bed is equipped with acid tank and acid pump regeneration system, and the negative bed is equipped with alkali tank and alkali pump regeneration system.
